Refund & Return Policy

Aussie owned, ACL compliant, and committed to fair outcomes for collectors.

At Groovy Collectables, we comply fully with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). This policy explains when you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or return, and how cancellations, pre-orders, restocking fees, and payment provider disputes are handled.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Consumer Guarantees (Australian Consumer Law)

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if a product:

  • Is faulty or defective
  • Is significantly different from its description
  • Is unsafe
  • Is not of acceptable quality
  • Was supplied incorrectly

Where a product has a major failure, you may choose a refund or replacement. Where a product has a minor failure, we may offer a repair, replacement, or refund.

If a return is required due to our error, Groovy Collectables will cover reasonable return shipping costs.

Change of Mind, Cancellations & Non-Fault Returns

We do not offer refunds for change of mind. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ordering the wrong item
  • Deciding you no longer want the product
  • Finding the item cheaper elsewhere
  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping details supplied by the customer

If a cancellation or return is approved outside of ACL obligations, the following conditions apply:

  • A 15% restocking and administration fee will be deducted from the refund
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable
  • Return postage is the responsibility of the customer
  • Items must be unused, unopened, and returned in original condition and packaging

Order Cancellations

  • Cancellations requested before dispatch may be approved at our discretion and are subject to a 15% restocking and administration fee
  • Orders that have already been dispatched cannot be cancelled and must follow the return process if eligible

Pre-Orders

By placing a pre-order with Groovy Collectables, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Pre-orders are final sale once placed, except where required under Australian Consumer Law
  • Release dates are estimates only and may change due to supplier delays, manufacturer changes, or logistics issues outside our control
  • Delays do not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund
  • Pre-order cancellations requested prior to dispatch may be approved at our discretion and are subject to a 15% restocking and administration fee
  • Once a pre-order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled

If a supplier cancels or materially reduces our allocation, affected orders will be refunded in full.

Return Requests & Process

  1. Contact sales@groovycollectables.com.au within 30 days of delivery
  2. Provide your order number, reason for return, and supporting photos where applicable
  3. Await written approval before returning any item
  4. Once approved, the item must be received at our facility within 14 days of approval

Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted and may be returned to the sender at the customer's expense.

Return Shipping

  • If the return is due to a fault, damage, or incorrect item supplied by us, return shipping will be covered by Groovy Collectables
  • For all other approved returns, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer

Restocking Fee

  • A 15% restocking fee applies to all approved cancellations and non-fault returns
  • This fee covers inspection, handling, payment processing, and inventory reconciliation
  • Restocking fees are not applied where a refund is required under Australian Consumer Law

Refund Processing

  • Once a return is received and inspected, you will be notified of the outcome
  • Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days
  • Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider

Refunds will be issued minus any applicable restocking fees and non-refundable shipping charges, where permitted by law.

Payment Providers, Chargebacks & Disputes

If you choose to pay using a third-party payment provider, including Afterpay, PayPal, credit card, or debit card, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your payment method does not alter Groovy Collectables' Refund & Return Policy
  • All refunds, returns, and cancellations are assessed strictly in accordance with this policy and Australian Consumer Law
  • Change-of-mind refunds are not guaranteed and, if approved, are subject to a 15% restocking and administration fee, where permitted by law

If a refund is approved:

  • Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method
  • Any instalment plans or payment schedules are managed by the payment provider in accordance with their terms
  • Refund amounts may be reduced by applicable restocking fees and non-refundable shipping charges, where permitted by law

If a dispute or chargeback is lodged without first contacting us, we reserve the right to provide this policy, order confirmation, delivery confirmation, tracking details, and correspondence as evidence, and to pause direct resolution until the dispute process is completed.

Lodging a dispute does not override this policy or your rights and obligations under Australian Consumer Law.

Customers are encouraged to contact sales@groovycollectables.com.au before initiating a dispute so the matter can be reviewed promptly.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund, except where required under Australian Consumer Law:

  • Opened or unsealed trading card products, including booster packs and sealed boxes
  • Products with broken seals or signs of use
  • Gift cards and digital products
  • Items marked as Final Sale, Clearance, or Damaged Packaging
